The Power of Imagination

Growing up, I never really was very good with numbers or mathematics in general. It was a constant battle I fought at school and passing tests was not easy. It just did not come naturally to me as it did with many kids around me. I remember staying up late at night in bed staring at the ceiling, trying to understand the math problem I just couldn't solve. My mind used to go to some really wild places and I was constantly distracted by my imagination. An imagination constituting shapes, colors, places where I could simply fly, happy days, far away worlds...just anything except what I needed to truly be focusing on. As much as imagination being a constant distraction for me, it was also something that saved me emotionally. Simply knowing the power of it made me feel at ease because I knew if I couldn't solve a math problem....I could at least float in my head to magical lands.
