''A Rainy Reality'', Art Print, 11''x14''
When I think about rain, I can think about so many different moments in my life wherein rain determined how my day went. When I lived in India, schools closed when it rained too hard. I still remember anxiously watching my mom get a phone call giving me this excellent news. I would immediately run back to my bed to go back to sleep but would struggle falling asleep simply because I was too excited to want to waste my free day doing that.
Rain also reminds me of the large water puddles it created in our schools due to the unfortunate drainage system. However, these puddles were soon converted into little lakes where kids released several paper boats attempting to race one another. Little did we know about leptospirosis back in the day, but oh well, we all made it out alive.
Rain definitely arises several deep memories especially since it was something that either created ultimate joy when it was extremely humid or produced tremendous gloom since we couldn't really step out to play Seven Stones (best game ever) with my friends.
The artwork doesn't scream ''RAIN'' but if you stare at it for a minute you will be able to find elements leaning towards it. I kind of felt it was like staring at the car glass window and looking out at the rain falling and creating upward splashes as the tires rolled onto it. If I'm being completely honest, I was not going for rain when I was making this painting. If you guys are familiar with my work, like I've mentioned earlier, I do not plan AT ALL. I go with the flow, I work with my heart, I do what my soul commands. Whether the piece turns out to be conventionally ''beautiful'' or ''ugly'' is wholly in god's hands. At this point, lines are pretty much my artistic language. They are my voice.
